For a large living space or office, the Toshiba SHORAI Edge 6.1kW provides cooling and heating from one wall mounted split system. It is sized for a room of 61m² and combines a slim flat-panel indoor unit with an outdoor unit running on R32 refrigerant.
Comfortable through hot and cold spells
One system handles both seasons, drawing heat out of the room in summer and bringing warmth in when it turns cold. It operates from -15°C to +46°C, and an on-demand defrost function clears frost from the outdoor unit whenever it builds up.
21000 BTU of cooling, 24000 BTU of heating
The system cools at 6.1kW, which is 21000 BTU, and heats at 7kW, or 24000 BTU. Its rotary inverter compressor varies its speed with demand instead of stopping and starting, and the ECO Logic button can cut energy consumption by up to 25%.
Quiet, clean and easy to run
Silent Mode lowers the outdoor unit's sound level by half, and Quiet Indoor Mode keeps things calm in the room at night. The Ultra Pure Filter traps fine PM2.5 particles from atmospheric pollution, while coated aluminium fins keep water and dust off the coil so it stays efficient.
What fitting involves
Fitting means hanging the indoor unit, placing the outdoor unit and running the pipework and interconnecting cable between them. An F-Gas registered engineer must then commission the system, and an electrician supplies power, usually with an isolator switch. Water collected from the air leaves through the wall by gravity or through a condensate pump.
