Match the model and the diameter
Read the exact model off your machine's rating plate before choosing, because filters, pumps and brackets are made for one model or one size within a range, such as a 10 and 12 litre version or a 20 and 25 litre version. Ducting is sized by its diameter in millimetres (mm) and must match the outlet on your machine.
Pumps, humidistats, ducting and heat mats
A condensate pump lifts water from the machine up to a sink or out of a window, so it runs without anyone emptying a tank. A remote humidistat measures the air where it matters and switches the machine on and off, while ducting carries dry air into a cavity or wet air outside. Heat mats warm a wet floor or wall so it gives up its water faster, and a carbon filter drum takes smells out of the air.
Filters, power and duct runs
Washable dust filters just need a rinse, but HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) and charcoal filters clog or saturate and need replacing as the machine's manual advises. Heat mats draw a few hundred watts each, so check the total before running several from one extension lead. Keep duct runs short and straight, since every bend and extra metre cuts the airflow.
