The Toshiba SHORAI Edge 6.1kW is a wall mounted split system that heats and cools a room of 61m² in a home or office. Its slim flat-panel indoor unit sits neatly on the wall, and a quiet indoor mode helps keep sleep undisturbed.
One system for every season
In summer it takes heat out of the room, and when the weather turns cold it switches to heating, so one installation covers the whole year. It keeps working from -15°C to +46°C, and auto restart picks up with the previous settings after a power cut.
6.1kW cooling and 7kW heating
Cooling output is 6.1kW (21000 BTU) and heating output 7kW (24000 BTU), driven by a rotary inverter compressor that speeds up or slows down to hold the temperature you set. Press Hi Power and the capacity booster brings the room to your chosen temperature quickly.
Remote, timer and airflow control
Motorised horizontal louvres can hold a preset direction or sweep automatically, and HADA-CARE improves how the air is distributed. The wireless remote control includes a weekly timer and an off timer, and the unit can be run over Wi-Fi with the Toshiba Home AC Control adapter.
Getting it installed
The indoor and outdoor units connect through 1/4" and 1/2" pipes carrying R32 refrigerant, plus an interconnecting cable, and an F-Gas registered engineer must commission the system once it is in place. An electrician provides 230V power to the indoor or outdoor unit, and the water it collects drains through the wall by gravity or via a pump.
