Description
Toshiba's SHORAI Edge 5.0kW is a single room split system for keeping a home or office comfortable in any season. A slim wall mounted indoor unit does the work in the room, while the outdoor unit and its inverter compressor sit outside.
Cooling in summer, warmth in winter
On a hot day it draws heat out of the room, and in winter it reverses to bring warmth in, so one system covers both jobs. It is sized for a room of 50m² and keeps performing from -15°C to +46°C, with an on-demand defrost function for frosty weather.
18000 BTU cooling, 20000 BTU heating
Cooling capacity is 5kW, or 18000 BTU, and heating reaches 6kW, or 20000 BTU. A rotary inverter compressor adjusts its speed to match the room rather than stopping and starting, and the ECO Logic button can reduce energy consumption by up to 25% at a single press.
Quiet running and cleaner air
Quiet Indoor Mode keeps noise in the room down for undisturbed sleep, and Silent Mode cuts the outdoor unit's sound level by half. The Ultra Pure Filter captures up to 94% of PM2.5 particles, the fine particulates that come from atmospheric pollution, and a self-cleaning function stops mould forming on the heat exchanger coil.
Installation by an F-Gas engineer
Refrigerant pipework and an interconnecting cable run between the indoor and outdoor units, and the system must be installed by an F-Gas registered installer. An electrician supplies 230V mains power to either unit. Condensate, the water drawn out of the air, drains through the wall by gravity or goes to a pump.
