The Panasonic RAC Solo 16 is a compact all-in-one air conditioner that heats and cools a room with no outdoor unit, needing just two holes in the wall. Its full-metal body is only 16.5cm deep, suiting homes, offices and studios.
For buildings that cannot take an outdoor unit
In apartments, heritage buildings and other places where an outdoor unit is not possible, the RAC Solo works as a stand-alone system with no refrigerant connections. It exchanges air with the outside through two 162mm wall holes, and it can be mounted high on the wall or low down to suit the room.
1.73kW cooling, 1.71kW heating
DC (direct current) inverter technology adjusts the output automatically, delivering a nominal 1.73kW of cooling and 1.71kW of heating. It keeps cooling across an operating range of -5°C to 43°C and keeps heating down to -15°C. Its seasonal efficiency is rated A for heating and B for cooling.
Quiet running and a self-closing grille
Sound pressure starts at 29 dB(A) on the low setting and reaches 39 dB(A) on high. The self-closing grille opens only while the unit is running, which keeps its appearance clean and secure when it is off. Moisture removal of 0.7 litres an hour helps take the edge off humid days.
